Plant Out: Late April onwards, once seedlings are sturdy and frost risk has passed

Why grow it?

How to grow: Sow seeds indoors from early March, or directly outside from mid-March to July. Sow 2 cm deep, 10 cm apart, in rows 30 cm apart. Keep soil moist to avoid woody roots. Protect young plants from cold. Feed every two weeks. Harvest medium-sized roots for best flavour.
Cooking / usage ideas: Delicious roasted, boiled or grated raw into salads. Keeps well for storing over winter.
