Do you want to get involved in Moffat Seed Library? Here’s how:
For gardeners and growers:
- Join Moffat Seed Library with this simple form. Then check out our store of available seeds and order up to 10 packets of this year’s seeds and as many packets of older seeds as you want for free (though donations are always very welcome). We use a ‘click and collect’ system so, subject to seed availability, we’ll package up your seed order and leave them for you to collect from a convenient location in Moffat.
- Join our community on Facebook. We encourage you to share seeds and plantstock with other Facebook group members. You can also ask for and offer advice. If you want, you can even bemoan the slugs and snails that laid waste to your courgettes (we’ll tell you about the not so useful homoeopathic remedy we tried for this one day). Use the Facebook group to help you grow your own and make new connections.
- You can donate seeds you know you won’t use or of which you have far too many to Moffat Seed Library. Simply label your seeds, put them in an envelope and pop them through the letterbox at The Studio Theatre, Dundanion Road, Moffat.
- You can save seeds at the end of each season and donate them back to Moffat Seed Library. We have advice on how to save seeds here.
For non-gardeners:
- You can still get involved in Moffat Seed Library, even if you have no interest in gardening. You can volunteer. We need everything from seed packers to fundraisers to poster putter-uppers. If you want to get involved, email us.
- You can donate to our fundraiser to help us buy seed packets, pay for domain names and to cover other costs.
