How to grow: Sow directly outdoors from March to August into fine, well-prepared soil. Sow seeds thinly in shallow drills and keep soil moist during germination. Thin seedlings as they grow to allow room for stems to develop. Water regularly in dry weather. Harvest when stems are pencil-thick or earlier for baby onions.
Cooking / usage ideas: Delicious raw in salads, chopped into stir-fries, added to soups, or used as a fresh garnish.
