About Moffat Seed Library
We operate in the DG10, DG11, and ML12 areas of Dumfries and Galloway. We’re keeping the Seed Library fairly local so we can develop seeds that thrive in our unique climate and conditions. And, let’s face it, in Moffat, that probably means the seeds will need waterproofs and wellies!
By keeping things local, it’s also easier for you to meet and connect with other members of Moffat Seed Library (if you haven’t already!). Plus, focusing on our local area means we don’t have to worry about costly postage charges – helping us keep things simple and affordable.
Membership is free to everyone
We believe money shouldn’t be a barrier to joining or growing your own. That’s why membership is free for everyone. However, donations are always welcome if you’d like to support us.
If there are any other barriers preventing you from becoming a member, please email us. We’ll do our best to help remove them.

Starting Small, Aiming High
Our goal is for Moffat Seed Library to become a vibrant and essential part of our local culture, where members freely share seeds, stories, and knowledge.
That said, we’re starting small – and taking things step by step. After all, a Seed Library without seeds isn’t much of a library!
In the early years, members can borrow up to 10 free packets of seeds. This offer is limited to one member per household. As more seeds are returned to the library, we hope to lift the limit and allow members to take as many seeds as they like. Check out our store and find out what’s in stock!
