How to grow: Sow seeds indoors from early April, or directly outside mid-April to July. Sow 2 cm deep, 10 cm apart, in rows 30 cm apart. Keep soil moist to avoid woody roots. Protect young plants from cold. Feed every two weeks. Harvest medium-sized roots for best flavour.

Cooking / usage ideas: Slice raw to show off the pink-and-white rings in salads, or roast for a sweeter flavour. Lovely pickled!
