How to grow: Sow seeds March–April in trays or seedbeds. Transplant outdoors May–June when seedlings are sturdy, spacing 50–60 cm apart in rows 60 cm apart. Firm soil well around plants to prevent wind rock. Water regularly, especially in dry spells. Harvest sprouts from the bottom of the stem upwards as they mature.

Cooking / usage ideas: Delicious steamed, roasted, or stir-fried. Mild, sweet flavour makes them a favourite for winter meals and festive dishes.
