Plant Out: April onwards for early sowings, once frost risk has passed

How to grow: Sow indoors or direct outdoors March–August. Sow thinly, 0.5–1 cm deep. Keep soil moist. Thin or transplant seedlings to 15–20 cm apart. Cut leaves regularly to encourage new growth. Chives can be grown as a perennial in the same spot for several years.
Cooking / usage ideas: Perfect fresh in salads, dips, scrambled eggs, soups, and as a garnish. Chive flowers are also edible and add a mild onion taste.
