Sowing Time: February–April (indoors) or March–April (direct)
Plant Out: April–May, once seedlings are sturdy and frost risk has passed

How to grow: Sow seeds indoors Feb–April, or directly outside March–April. Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in trays or drills. Transplant seedlings outdoors April–May, spacing 15–20 cm apart in rows 25–30 cm apart. Keep soil moist and weed-free. Harvest when tops yellow and bend over. Allow bulbs to dry fully for storage.
Cooking / usage ideas: Mild, sweet flavour is perfect raw in salads, pickled, or added to sauces, roasts, and stir-fries. Keeps well into winter when stored in a cool, dry place.
