How to grow: Sow direct outdoors May–June in well-prepared soil. Sow thinly, 1 cm deep, in rows 40 cm apart. Keep soil moist and free of weeds. Thin seedlings to 24 cm apart for good-sized roots. Harvest from October onwards. Flavour improves after cold weather.
Cooking / usage ideas: Perfect mashed with butter, roasted, or added to soups, stews, and casseroles. Sweet, earthy taste ideal for winter comfort food.
