How to grow: Sow seeds April–June in trays or seedbeds. Transplant outdoors June–July, spacing 60 cm apart in rows 60–75 cm apart. Keep well-watered and protect from pigeons. Harvest tender shoots as they appear from February onwards.
Cooking / usage ideas: Steam, stir-fry, or enjoy raw in salads. Sweet flavour and beautiful colour brighten winter and early spring dishes.
