Plant Out: May–June, once seedlings are pencil-thick and frost risk has passed
Harvest Time: October–March (approx. 30–38 weeks from sowing)
Spacing: Plant 10–15 cm apart in rows 30 cm apart
Height: Grows approx. 40–60 cm tall

How to grow: Sow seeds Feb–April in trays or seedbeds. Transplant outdoors May–June when seedlings are pencil-thick. Plant deeply in holes or trenches to blanch the stems. Space plants 10–15 cm apart in rows 30 cm apart. Water regularly. Harvest from October onwards as needed.

Cooking / usage ideas: Excellent in hearty soups, stews, pies, or roasted. Sweet flavour makes it versatile in many dishes.
