How to grow: Sow seeds indoors April–May into pots, or direct sow outdoors once soil is warm. Plant out after the risk of frost has passed, allowing plenty of space for spreading vines. Water well throughout the growing season and feed regularly. Harvest when skins are fully coloured and hard, leaving a short stem attached. Cure fruits in a warm, dry place before storing.
Cooking / usage ideas: Perfect for soups, roasting, curries, risottos, and baking. The skin is thin and can be cooked and eaten once softened.
