How to grow: Sow seeds Feb–April in trays or seedbeds. Transplant outdoors May–June when seedlings are pencil-thick. Plant deeply in holes or trenches to encourage long white stems. Space plants 10–15 cm apart in rows 30 cm apart. Water regularly. Harvest as needed from August onwards.
Cooking / usage ideas: Excellent in soups, stews, stir-fries, or sliced raw in salads for a mild onion taste.
